Boston Wine Expo Ticket Giveaway!

I am so excited to be going to the Boston Wine Expo this year! While helping spread the word about this great event is certainly fun, what’s even more fun is getting ready for the event ahead of time by researching what vendors and seminars I want to go to. The Boston Wine Expo is a huge undertaking, and it’s highly recommended that you go in with a plan.

Since I love making charcuterie and cheese boards at home to enjoy with wine, I thought I’d create one featuring some of the vendors that are going to be available at the Boston Wine Expo.

Read on to find out who some of my favorites are, my real girl tips for creating a cheese or charcuterie board, and how to enter my giveaway to win 2 tickets to the Boston Wine Expo’s Grand Tasting on Sunday, February 19th!

Eat, Drink, Bachelor: Week 4 – Boston Cheese Party Pizza Recipe

cheese pizza

I’ve been on a huge cheese kick for the last six months or so, picking up a new one to try every time I went to the grocery store. As it turns out, I went kind of overboard and some of the cheese was starting to go back before I could finish it. (RIP truffle cheddar from Seattle, Great Hill Blue, and 3 year Grafton.) ┬áLike any good girl boss though, when faced with this problem, I came up with a solution: throw it all on a pizza together. Boom. Boston Cheese Party.

Eat, Drink, Bachelor – Week 2 Recap: Steak Bites + Blue Cheese Butter

This week’s featured cooking attempt for week 2 of The Bachelor is a recipe from Chrissy Teigen’s Cravings cookbook that I’ve been wanting to try for a while – steak bites with blue cheese butter! You can find the recipe here, and read on for my actual experience making these. I’ll give you one spoiler: they tasted as good as this episode of The Bachelor was crazy.

Von Trapp Mad River Blue Cheese, A Love Letter

Dear Von Trapp Farmstead Mad River Blue Cheese,

Trying to write a love letter to cheese makes me feel a little bit like Forrest Gump. I may not be an educated smarty pants who knows how to adequately describe how cheese tastes, but I know what love is.

I know I like blue cheese in general. I get the store brand crumbles and throw it on my salads and into my buffalo chicken dip. I thoroughly enjoy pizzas with blue cheese on them – the more gorgonzola, the better! But the whole point of this blog post is you, Mad River Blue. The best blue cheese I’ve ever had.

I was browsing the cheese section of Roche Brothers, as always, and picked you up with a few other cheeses to try. I was drawn to you because I was craving blue cheese, and I’m a sucker for cheese from Vermont. Thank god I did because to me, you are perfect. Mad River Blue, you’ve got the perfect amount of salty blue cheese bite with a smooth texture that almost melts in my mouth. You’re not too intense but not boring either. It’s going to be a while before I get sick of you.

Please go on sale sometime so that I can stock up.
